Schaefer is seeking BIM Modelers/Designers to create construction documents and digital models for our structural engineering team. Scope of Work
- Prepare clear, complete and accurate construction documents as directed by the project team
- Create preliminary foundation and framing plans, and structural details as directed by design team
- Work collaboratively as a team to update structural model and drawings as required for design changes
- As directed by the project engineer, produce foundation and framing plan drawings from sketches, existing drawings and electronic images
- Review work for quality, completeness, and compliance of company standards
Qualifications
- 2+ years experience including proven technical knowledge of Revit to support our growing demand for BIM software projects
- Knowledge of building and construction concepts for various building types
- Demonstrate ability for a high level of attention to detail and accuracy, interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to balance multiple competing priorities
- Demonstrate experience in effectively managing deadlines and project demands
- Associate degree in a related field (engineering or technical)
- Proficiency in Microsoft excel, word
- BlueBeam experience is preferred

Working conditions and physical requirements
This work is typically done within an office environment with occasional field work at project + construction sites. When field assignments are required, the working conditions + physical requirements for field staff apply.
- Normal core working hours will be 9 am – 4 pm but may vary depending on project demands
- Overtime work may be required based on work deadlines
- Ability to access + navigate construction sites; may require ability to climb + descend ladders or crawl through openings
- Some travel may be required for this position: conducting site visits, working out of area, out of state or across the state as driven by project need
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
